Marion: I read and greatly enjoyed Amongst our Weapons, the latest RIVERS OF LONDON book by Ben Aaronivitch, and now I’ve started Locklands, final book in Robert Jackson Bennett’s FOUNDERS trilogy. I spent some time reading the rough draft of my current WIP with an eye to revision, and continue that process today.
Terry: I continue with my reread of Gideon the Ninth by Tamsyn Muir, noting a lot more detail than I did the first time through, when I was so caught up in the plot that I just raced to find out what happens next. I’m also still reading romances, mostly because I’m interested in trying my hand at one. Eva Leigh’s How the Wallflower Was Won and Alexis Hall’s A Lady for a Duke are both in my “Currently Reading” folder. Finally, I’ve finished reading The Sandman: A Doll’s House by Neil Gaiman which means I can get back to watching the series. Dream Country comes next!
Tim: Like Terry, I reread Gideon the Ninth this week (’tis the season with the next LOCKED TOMB book on the horizon). I’m glad I revisited the first novel, as I’d apparently forgotten a good bit of the plot. It’s also the first time that I’ve read Gideon in print (the first time I listened to an audiobook), which allowed me to linger a bit longer over some of Muir’s world-building hints. Hopefully I can put more together in this readthrough as I carry on to Harrow the Ninth.
