The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent by Larry CorreiaThe Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent is a fun, silly, sometimes clever, sometimes hilarious, sometimes stupid story with lots of geeky SFF in-jokes. Some readers will absolutely adore it while others will absolutely loathe it.

As the story begins, one of the Earths in the multiverse is being overrun by Purple People Eaters who are (of course) eating people. Fortunately, this particular Earth has a policy with Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent. He’ll take care of it quickly and easily because if there’s one thing that Tom Stranger is serious about, it’s excellent customer service. That’s why he’s really annoyed that his new intern is a sissy Millennial crybaby who majored in gender studies, occupied Wall Street, and thinks that all interdimensional crises can be solved with diplomacy. Tom Stranger prefers his big guns. As he likes to say: “It’s time to kick ass and adjust claims!”

If your name is Rachel Maddow, or if you enjoy her show, The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent is NOT for you. The constant denigration of things that liberals like will probably drive you nuts. Here’s an example:

“Sadly, that version of America hadn’t kept current on their policy and they were harvested. It was a strange planet. You see, they spent all their budget on odd things, like tarps, or buying perfectly good cars so they could destroy them so they could buy new cars, or acorns, or Canadian style healthcare.”

“What’s a Canadian?” Secret Service Agent #1 whispered to #2.

#2 shrugged.

A Murder of Manatees: The Further Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent Audible Audiobook – Unabridged Larry Correia (Author), Adam Baldwin (Narrator), Audible Studios (Publisher)

Thanks to Nathan for letting me know there’s a sequel.

The plot of The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent is fast moving and mostly entertaining but, in contrast to the other Correia stories I’ve read, the anti-liberal jokes, though often funny, are relentless. I’m not a liberal (I’m fairly middle-of-the-road with a slight libertarian bent), and I am completely aware of and prepared for Larry Correia’s political opinions, but the liberal bashing in this novella got on my nerves. I almost didn’t finish it and wouldn’t have if it wasn’t so short.

However, if you’re riding the Trump train, if you’ve ever called someone a libtard, or if you’re a fan of Correia’s blog, and especially if you’ve ever had a book signed by him at a convention, you are going to love The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent. It’s totally for you.

Adam Baldwin (who played Jayne Cobb in Firefly) perfectly narrates The Adventures of Tom Stranger, Interdimensional Insurance Agent. It was produced by Audible Studios and is 2 hours long.

Since I do not read Larry Correia’s blog, I do not know if there will be more stories about Tom Stranger.

Published in 2016. Have you ever seen a planet invaded by rampaging space mutants from another dimension or Nazi dinosaurs from the future? Don’t let this happen to you! Rifts happen, so you should be ready when universes collide. A policy with Stranger & Stranger can cover all of your interdimensional insurance needs. Rated “Number One in Customer Satisfaction” for three years running, no claim is too big or too weird for Tom Stranger to handle. But now Tom faces his greatest challenge yet. Despite being assigned the wrong – and woefully inadequate – intern, Tom must still provide quality customer service to multiple alternate Earths, all while battling tentacle monsters, legions of the damned, an evil call center in Nebraska, and his archnemesis, Jeff Conundrum. Armed with his Combat Wombat and a sense of fair play, can Tom survive? And will Jimmy the Intern ever discover his inner insurance agent? It’s time to kick ass and adjust claims. Adam Baldwin (Firefly, Chuck) performs Larry Correia’s madcap interdimensional tale of underwriting and space travel, where the only thing scarier than tentacle monsters is a high deductible.
