Jeffrey Thomas is the author of such science fiction/horror novels as DEADSTOCK (finalist for the John W. Campbell Award), BLUE WAR, HEALTH AGENT, MONSTROCITY (finalist for the Bram Stoker Award), LETTERS FROM HADES, THE FALL OF HADES, BONELAND and A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET: THE DREAM DEALERS. His short story collections include PUNKTOWN, VOICES FROM PUNKTOWN, PUNKTOWN: SHADES OF GREY (coauthored with Scott Thomas), NOCTURNAL EMISSIONS, UNHOLY DIMENSIONS, VOICES FROM HADES, AAAIIIEEE!!! and THIRTEEN SPECIMENS. His stories have been reprinted in THE YEAR’S BEST FANTASY AND HORROR and THE YEAR’S BEST HORROR STORIES. Red Cells deals more with the ugly: Edwin Fetch has earned himself a six month term in the penitentiary for possession with intent to sell purple vortex. Specifically, he’s to be shipped to the Trans-Paxton Penitentiary, known to its inmates as the Wormhole, a transdimensional prison carved out of the planes between existence.
