Cornell George Hopley-Woolrich (December 4, 1903 – September 25, 1968) was an American novelist and short story writer who sometimes wrote under the pseudonyms William Irish and George Hopley. A few of the many films based on his novels and short stories are The Leopard Man, Phantom Lady, Deadline at Dawn, Night Has a Thousand Eyes, The Window, Rear Window, The Bride Wore Black, and Mississippi Mermaid.
