Merry Christmas, friends!
We hope you’re all warm and cozy and surrounded by people (and books) you love.
Did you get any books for Christmas? Or gift cards or cash to spend on books?
If so, which books will you buy?

FanLit is a hobby for us, but it costs us money to run the site. You can help by using our links to purchase books at Amazon. Just click on our images of the book covers. It won't cost you any extra, but FanLit will get a referral fee for anything you buy (not just books). We use this money to pay for our domain names, hosting, software, and mailing books to giveaway winners. Thank you!

My inbox had a gift cert for Monkey Queen book one: Of Introductions and Abductions by Robert Dahlen. I’ve received several other book gift certs too–the perfect gift for a reader for sure!!!(Link: http://www.amazon.com/Introductions-Abductions-Monkey-Queen-Book-ebook/dp/B00NAKJUG2/ref=asap_B00NBIWICQ?ie=UTF8)
Merry Christmas and thanks for publishing such a great blog. I love coming here and I enjoy the reviews and the people. Y’all are great!
The books I got myself!
John Golden, Freelance Debugger by Django Wexler
Something About A Sword And A Stone by Jeffrey Wikstrom
The Twenty Palaces by Harry Connelly
The Fractal Prince by Hannu Rajaniemi got myself a hardcover edition.
Merry Christmas! My Christmas has been cancelled by Grinch Influenza in my family, so I will probably use an Amazon gift card to buy some ebooks. I got Karen Lynch’s Refuge early this morning, and I am looking forward to A.F. Dery’s Fallen Winter. I loved her Broken Mirrors duology. J.C. Daniels’s Edged Blade is on my wish list. I got a Half Price Books gift card that I will use to get Rhiannon Held’s Silver series. Stay safe, stay warm, and don’t forget the hand sanitizer!
I got a nice stack of books this year, my regular mix of sci fi, fantasy, and historical mystery.
Lamentation, by C.J. Sansom. I couldn’t wait to get my hands on this huge tome, as I love Matthew Shardlake and all his adventures in the time of Henry VIII.
The Chaplain’s War, by Bard R. Torgersen. I hope I like this one, as my tastes don’t always run to hard sci fi. But it sounded fascinating.
Falling Sky, by Rajan Khanna. Airships! What more do I have to say?
Valour and Vanity, by Mary Robinette Kowal. I love this mix of Jane Austen and magic.
Death of an Avid Reader, by Frances Brody. Crikey, that title sounds ominous here on a blog just full of avid readers, doesn’t it? Another historical mystery, this time set in England in the mid 1920’s.
I got lovely gifts this year but not a single book or book gift certificate! Unprecedented!! Though I do believe I’ll have one book on its way to me from your lovely stacks soon since I won a recent giveaway. Thank you!
However, my beautiful library plays Santa to me all year long and I’ve got a good wish list built up to get me through the first of the new year.
Merry Christmas to all and thank you FanLit for being an excellent place to visit, read and discuss my favorite passtime!
I got Your Brother’s Blood by David Towsey in the mail, from England! I also got Amazon Kindle money and decided to use it to stock up on bargain e-books: Aliette de Bodard’s Obsidian & Blood books, Scattered Among Strange Worlds; Martha Wells’ City of Bones, Element of Fire, Wheel of the Infinite; Kate Elliott’s Jaran books; Octavia Butler’s Lilith’s Brood books; and several titles from the Orbit Christmas Day sale.
The one actual book I got for Christmas was THE BOOK OF STRANGE NEW THINGS by Michel Faber. I’m nearly finished with it.
There are so many books that my gift cards are going to go towards… thanks mostly to my fellow reviewers on this site who keep loading me up with “Must Reads!”
I got Spell Booked by Joyce Lavene. The rest of my book present won’t get here until Feb.
I got City of Stairs by Robert Jackson Bennett and Jeff Vandermeer’s Wonderbook, which is just absolutely gorgeous.
