Rex Stout was born in Indiana in 1886. Although most closely associated with the famed detective Nero Wolfe, Stout also wrote in numerous other genres. He passed away in 1975, at the age of 88.
Because author Rex Stout is so closely associated with his most famous fictional character, housebound detective extraordinaire Nero Wolfe, fans may find it hard to believe that the Indiana-born writer ever wrote anything else.
