If you find something interesting you think everyone should read, drop me a line via the contact form and let me know, or just post it below. Let’s get started:

1) Writing About Race in Science Fiction and Fantasy: SF Signal hosts a round table discussion about writing race in SFF. A very well done and thought-provoking piece.

2) Theodore Sturgeon Memorial Award: Care of Grasping the Wind, here is a list of the finalists for the Sturgeon Award. All of the nominations carry links to the stories, so you can see how your judgment stacks up against that of the judges.

3) Journey to Planet JoCo: An interview series on Tor’s website between John Scalzi and Jonathan Coulton. Fans of either should probably check it out.

4) The New Yorker science fiction issue: The New Yorker to launch SF magazine with a story from Jennifer Egan.

5) Take a tour of Audible.com: Take a tour of the Audible.com offices and studios in Newark, NJ with narrator Katherine Kellgren. Is that you, George R.R. Martin?

JUSTIN BLAZIER (on FanLit's staff since September 2009) is a Cyber-Security Analyst/Network Engineer located in Northern Kentucky. Like many fantasy enthusiasts, Justin cut his teeth on authors like Tolkien, Anthony, and Lewis. Due to lack of space, his small public library would often give him their donated SFF books. When he is not reading books he is likely playing board games or Tabletop RPGs. Justin lives in a quiet neighborhood with his wife, their daughter, and Norman the dog.
